I’ll speak as a christian and just say that I didn’t come to christ because I wanted to be christian. I would actually love to be free from the moral obligations being christian is attached to. I’m christian primarily because of personal experiences of Jesus Christ. Secondarily because of the evidence of the resurrection. Personally, minor conflicts in the synoptic gospels doesn’t shake my faith very much. But like I said I really wouldn’t mind being convinced there is no God. I gave up drinking, sexual relationships with women, and drugs for the sake of the truth of the bible. If it were not true I would mourn the 2 years I lost and get back to having fun. I just doubt there is someone out there who can explain away the evidences for the ressurection

The resurrection argument is weak because of all of the pre-supposed “facts”. You have to assume that the post-resurrection sightings were legitimate. Paul claims 500 saw him - so what? Why believe Paul. It’s not like we have accounts from each of the 500. You also have to assume that the biblical claims about the martyrdom of the disciples are correct, which is a big leap.
